Sunshine and Sizzle at Trinity House’s BBQ Funday

There was a real buzz in the air at Trinity House Care Home this week as we welcomed the warmer weather with a joyful BBQ Funday in our garden. With the sun shining brightly over Edinburgh, residents and staff came together to enjoy a relaxed lunch outdoors – and the atmosphere was nothing short of brilliant.

Our kitchen and activities teams pulled out all the stops to create a memorable afternoon filled with the familiar, comforting flavours of a traditional British barbecue. Plates were piled high with hot dogs, burgers, grilled corn on the cob and colourful veggie skewers – all cooked fresh on the grill by our wonderful chefs.

It wasn’t just the food that made the day special. Residents shared memories of summer holidays, seaside picnics and family BBQs in the garden. Laughter echoed through the courtyard as stories were swapped and old times fondly remembered. Some of our neighbours and members of the public even stopped by to say hello, drawn in by the mouthwatering smells and warm, welcoming energy.

We’re thrilled to say this won’t be a one-off – with so many smiles and positive comments, we’ve decided to make these garden lunches a regular part of our calendar.
