Our dedicated team of nurses excel at recognising the healthcare needs of our residents and they regularly exceed their responsibilities to ensure that everyone receives the best possible care and support. They have the knowledge and experience to detect any changes in our residents’ health and to determine when it is time to consult with other healthcare professionals.

What is Nursing Care?

Care homes offering nursing care do so for older adults with varying physical disabilities and long-term health conditions including neurological conditions, as well as those who may have higher dependency care needs than others, who have recently become seriously ill, or who may need end-of-life care.

This type of care provided in a care home is the most effective treatment for older people with physical and mental health conditions, as they can be supported in a number of ways including medical support, rehabilitation, and encouragement to lead a fulfilling lifestyle through the participation of meaningful activities and enjoying special occasions with family.

Nursing Care FAQs

Nursing care is always tailored to the unique needs of each individual. At Trinity House Care Home, we offer a comprehensive range of nursing services, which includes medication management, wound care, support with daily activities, assistance for those with physical disabilities, managing mental health conditions, and addressing sensory impairments. We work closely with other healthcare providers to ensure that our residents always receive the care that’s most appropriate for maintaining their health and overall well-being.

You should consider nursing care when you notice any of the below:

  • Worsening chronic health conditions, such as diabetes, heart disease, or dementia
  • Difficulty performing activities of daily living (ADLs), such as bathing, dressing, or grooming
  • Recent falls, injuries, hospitalisations or emergency room visits
  • Significant weight loss or changes in appetite
  • Increased confusion or forgetfulness
  • Difficulty managing medications or complying with treatment plans
  • Need for specialised medical equipment or care, such as oxygen therapy or wound care

Our experienced nursing team will conduct a thorough assessment to determine the level of care needed and can offer guidance on the most suitable care approach for you or your loved one. When considering a move to a care home, open communication with your family and involving the individual requiring care in the decision-making process is crucial. This ensures that the care provided aligns with their preferences and needs.

The safety and well-being of our residents at Trinity House Care Home are of great importance. We maintain this commitment by ensuring we have appropriate staffing levels, highly trained and qualified nursing staff, rigorous infection control and medication management protocols, and frequent safety audits and assessments. Furthermore, we have implemented security measures to restrict unauthorised access.
