At Trinity House Care Home, we are pleased to offer Dementia Care that is individually tailored to each resident. We take pride in standing out for several reasons, especially due to our home manager, Ann. With her expertise, knowledge and specialised training in dementia care, Ann leads our highly trained Dementia Care team.

Every member of our team has received professional training to handle all aspects of dementia with skill and compassion. At Trinity House Care Home, we reject the idea of a separate dementia unit. Instead, we foster an inclusive, stigma-free environment where everyone is equal and safe.

What is Dementia Care?

Dementia care is specialised care and support provided to individuals living with dementia within a residential facility. Dementia is a progressive condition that affects cognitive functioning, memory, behaviour, and overall daily functioning. A specific dementia care unit in a care home provides a safe and supportive environment for individuals with dementia. A specialised space ensures their well-being and quality of life.

Dementia care aims to help residents preserve their sense of self and independence for as long as possible. No two people with dementia are alike.

There are different stages of a dementia journey. It might also progress at different rates. Each dementia resident will receive a personalised care plan. They will also be regularly monitored.

Before residents move, we arrange a consultation with our Home Manager, the prospective resident, and their family members. This crucial step allows us to assess and understand their individual needs.

We are committed to investing in the training and development of our staff. Specifically, our dementia care team receives ongoing training. They remain well-informed about the latest advancements in dementia care and support.

With a wealth of experience and expertise, our teams deliver high-quality care to our residents with dementia.
