Our Monthly Book Club

Each month as a part of our activities programme at Trinity House Care Home, Edinburgh City library delivers a selection of books to our care home including audiobooks and large print books. 

This is an opportunity for our residents to gather in the Cafe Bar to discuss their books, read the synopsis and support each resident to choose a book that suits them. In addition to this, we also have a regular ‘reading aloud’ activity that involves our residents taking the time to relax and learn about a new and exciting book or poetry. 

Our activities programme is tailored around our resident's hobbies and interests as well as encouraging one another to develop new skills. We have seen the first-hand benefits of our residents taking part in our activities programme, it enables one another to build new relationships and connections in and out of our care home, as well as increases the confidence and independence levels of our residents.
