A Cracking St Patrick’s Day at Trinity House

St Patrick's Day at Trinity House

We love a good get-together here at Trinity House, and St Patrick’s Day was the perfect excuse for a wee celebration! In the days leading up to it, we spent time chatting about the history of St Patrick and all the good he did. There were a few surprised faces when we found out he was actually born in Scotland—who knew? It made for some great conversations, with plenty of stories shared over a cuppa.

On the morning of the big day, we got stuck into decorating the bar, making sure everything was looking the part for the afternoon’s festivities. Our kitchen team outdid themselves with a proper hearty Irish stew, and it went down an absolute treat. One of our ladies, whose late husband was Irish, said it reminded her of his cooking—such a lovely moment.

The afternoon was filled with music, laughter, and, of course, a few glasses of Guinness! Eric had us all singing along to traditional Irish folk songs, and you could just feel the joy in the room. It was one of those afternoons where everyone was smiling, tapping their feet, and just enjoying each other’s company.

Celebrations like this are so important for our residents. They bring back happy memories, give everyone a chance to share their stories, and create a real sense of togetherness. Whether it’s through music, food, or just having a good blether, these wee moments make all the difference. Looking for a warm and welcoming care home where life is always filled with laughter, friendship, and meaningful moments? At Trinity House, we make every day special, from lively celebrations to quiet, comforting chats over a cuppa.
