What is Dementia Care?

Dementia care is specialised care and support provided to individuals living with conditions such as Alzheimer’s disease, vascular dementia and frontotemporal dementia, within a residential facility. Dementia is a progressive condition that affects cognitive functioning, memory, behaviour, and overall daily functioning. A specific dementia care unit in a care home provides a safe and supportive environment for individuals with dementia to ensure their well-being and positive quality of life.

Our Care Teams and Activity Coordinators go above and beyond. They talk with our dementia residents and their loved ones to identify activities for their specific needs. It can be difficult to know what to expect from dementia care in a care home. The right support can change someone’s life for the better. Trinity House Care Home also has an open-door policy where loved ones can visit at any time of day.
