Trinity House Hosts its First Christmas Fete
On Thursday, 7th December, Trinity House came alive with the sounds of laughter, music, and festive cheer as we hosted our very first Christmas fete. Residents, families, and friends from the local community joined us to kick off the seasonal celebrations in style.
One of the day’s most memorable moments for everyone was the visit from Happy Hoofbeats Therapy Ponies. These gentle, tiny ponies captured the hearts of everyone they met, from residents to guests of all ages. As they trotted around spreading joy, visitors learned about the valuable role therapy ponies play in bringing comfort and connection to care home residents. It was just a lovely sight to see so many people enjoying the company of our little ponies—and their colourful antlers gave everyone a laugh!
The festivities didn’t end there though, guests enjoyed the excitement of our tombola, which was packed with fabulous prizes, and the raffle proved to be a major highlight. Thanks to the generosity of incredible organisations like Edinburgh Zoo and Edinburgh Dungeons, as well as many other local businesses, we were able to offer some brilliant prizes to our lucky winners.
As the day wound down, everyone gathered in the bar area to enjoy the sounds of live music, which provided the perfect backdrop for some well-deserved relaxation. Steaming mugs of hot chocolate and warm, buttery mince pies were shared, creating a cosy and festive atmosphere for all.
We are thrilled to announce that the event raised an impressive £313, which will go towards enhancing the lives of our residents and supporting further community activities. We’d like to extend our thanks to everyone who attended, contributed, or volunteered their time to make this event so special. Your support means the world to us, and we can’t wait to host more celebrations in the future.
