Trinity House Care Home Welcomes Back Furry Friends for Therapeutic Visits
Trinity House Care Home, Edinburgh is once again filled with excitement as the warmer weather marks the return of some very special visitors – five adorable Guinea pigs; these furry companions are back to spread joy and warmth among the residents.
The care home, known for its innovative approach to resident wellbeing, organises bi-monthly visits from the guinea pigs, much to the delight of everyone involved. Each visit kicks off with a heartwarming ritual, as one of the residents eagerly welcomes the Guinea pigs at the door, assisting in setting up their cosy pen for the duration of their stay.
Once settled in, the real magic begins. Residents gather around to interact with the Guinea pigs, feeding them and revealing in the therapeutic companionship they provide. The gentle nuzzles and cuddles from these furry friends never fail to bring smiles and warmth to the hearts of all involved.
To ensure that every resident has the opportunity to enjoy the company of these lovable creatures, Trinity House alternates between group visits and room visits. This thoughtful approach ensures that those who may not be able to join in larger gatherings still get the chance to experience the joy of the guinea pigs up close.
But the furry festivities don't stop there! Trinity House Care Home is also getting ready for our annual highlight, the much-anticipated Strawberry Fete. Mark your calendars for July 27th, from 2-4pm, as our home opens our doors to residents, families and the local community for an afternoon of fun, games and of course, delicious strawberries!
With the guinea pigs making their triumphant return and the Strawberry Fete just around the corner, our home is filled with anticipation and excitement, promising a season filled with warmth, laughter and cherished memories.
